Youth Documentaries

As part of our community-based research project approach, AICBR worked with youth and communities to document their stories through photovoice and film. These films help to mobilize knowledge and inspire action. The process helps to interest and involve youth in the research process and encourages knowledge translation from a strength-based and community-oriented perspective. Read about the film making process as part of community-based research here.

Story Maps

A story map is an online application used to tell stories about our world through mapping, photos, videos, text, and other online embedded materials (i.e. websites, links, google images). They are a way to bring maps to life and educate about topics of interest. Explore AICBR’s story maps about healthy living and food security!

Climate Tactics Game & Community Adaptation Stories

In 2017, AICBR teamed up with McGill University to work on the project Acting on Climate Change: Indigenous Innovations. We worked with McGill, Selkirk and Kluane First Nations as well as our friends at the Inuvik Community Greenhouse to put together some short clips to be highlighted in the Climate Tactics Game, which was a highlight of the exhibit. This innovative game takes the user through a series of steps, highlighting different Indigenous community initiatives, in order to reduce greenhouse gases.
